Let’s Meet Jan

Before there was Let’s Unpack there was (and still is) my Pilates business. I have owned a studio for 13 years so I know everything there is to know about running a business. Most of all I know a small business owner is also part bookkeeper, part decorator, part carpenter, part plumber and probably working on a day off. I learned all those things on the job, but I was born a teacher, entertainer and motivator. That comes in handy in the studio where I am also the lead instructor.

I also happen to love unpacking and setting up houses. And then it occurred to me, I could apply everything I know about running a business with my super skill of getting clients to do way more than they would on their own and help people unpack from a move and set up their home. And Let’s Unpack was born. From a zillion boxes to zero, I got you.

“I am like an unpacker fixer: the move has happened, you are in desperate need of the situation handled and put behind you.”

“Let’s debunk the whole notion of having your friend come over to help unpack. It’s like getting invited to your 10th wedding of the summer. You do not want to go. You can’t tell your friend she unpacks slower than you packed your whole house or that your 3-year-old has more focus. She is doing you the worst favor ever and she already hates you for accepting her offer.”
